An apple-picking adventure!

Falling in love with reading at a young age, many key moments in my life are defined by books. I remember how proud I was to finish The Secret Garden for the first time, the longest book I had read at that point, and later falling in love and growing up with the characters in Harry Potter. Eighth grade will forever be the year the I read (and reread and reread and reread) The Book Thief, and more recently books such as Atlas Shrugged, The Dinner, and Damned have all shaped how I think and view the world.

My favorite part of books is that they’ve allowed me to go on adventures from the safety of my bed. Cuddled under my blankets with a cup of hot chocolate I travel to exotic locales,  save the world, play the villain, or slip into the shoes of sorts of different people. From the comfort of my bed, with a book the world is my oyster.

Of course, I like to enjoy my own adventures too. Whether its biking around and exploring my home city of Boston or travelling to new locations, I love experiencing and learning about as much of the world around me as I possibly can.

An aspiring writer, I hope to use my own life and experiences to one day write something that will affect others in the way great books have influenced me.

  2. Great to meet you! I also loved many of the books you mentioned, and The Dinner was a recent read of mine as well–crazy I-can’t-believe-I’m-reading-this turn-around! Have you read Gone Girl?

  3. Great to meet you as well! The Dinner was crazy-I kept having to re-read sections because I thought they were too insane to be what was actually written. And no, I haven’t read Gone Girl, but I’ve heard really good things about it. Would you recommend it?
